Condo Owners Association (COA) is a non profit Association to represents Condo Owners of residential and commercial condominiums. COA was founded in March 2010 by Linda Pinizzotto who believed Condo Owners need a voice and promote better governance, accountability, operations and regulation in the operations of their Condominiums. There was no Association to represent their interest and their Provincial Legislation, "The Condo Act" was 12 years old. The Condo Owners Association (COA) advocates Government to support consumer protection in all forms of condominiums. Condominiums are governed by the Provincial Condo Act however there was massive condo development between 2000 - 2010 with new condo construction and the Condo Landscape was changing rapidly especially in Toronto and Mississauga. Linda, a successful Real Estate Agent (over 30 years of experience) and Government Relations Chairperson for the Real Estate Boards, realized the necessity for more consumer protection and transparency for Condo Owners and Condo Corporations. . She was representing the Real Estate Industry working with Provincial Government MPP's at Parliament Hill and Queens Park on various issues. In 2010 Linda met with Minister Charles Sousa and moving forward continue to build the COA Ontario until in June 2012, the McGuinty Announced a "Condo Act Review". Linda, on behalf of the COA held a position on every aspect of the Condo Act Review and Property Management Licensing. Her dedication and hard work paid off! On May 27, 2015 the Minister of Government and Consumer Services introduced a new Bill called The Protecting Condominium Owners Act, 2015. The Condo Owners Association continues to represent Condo Owners and acknowledges the countless hours of advocacy working towards their Mission Statement together with Provincial Government.
