CurrentI am exuberant about business owners who want to build their business especially in these difficult, challenging times we suddenly find ourselves in now.I’m an insurance nerd turned financing dork with a flare of marketing geek. My marketing experience spans a 30+ year insurance career. I cut my teeth on insurance when working in my father's office in the mid 1980's. I assisted with “old school” tasks such as typing on carbon-copy paper forms and a mad dash to the post office to snail-mail applications. I think back to those days and wonder how we got anything done with all the glorious technology we have now. Please don't notice how I’m dating myself here!I was determined to blaze my own trail after college and start a new adventure. In 1990, I found myself in Atlanta and dove headfirst into a successful career. Guess which industry? You got it! INSURANCE. This was by accident, but what a great experience.My new career was with a reinsurance corporation as an Ocean Marine Underwriter. After 9 years, I returned to Sleepy Hollow and re-joined my father's agency. I assisted with technology upgrades, building our brand and networking with community and business organizations to expand our agency's visibility. In 2000, I earned my professional licenses including Life & Health, Series 6 and 63 and Property & Casualty Broker. In 2009, I discovered social media; and I was hooked. My talent at building business using the 21st century tools, along with old-fashioned selling and networking, sales increased by almost 200%.How do you plan to build your business?
