I love hearing about and celebrating business success stories. I was a cheerleader in high school, so no surprise there. My insurance experience spans 30+ years. As a previous insurance broker and insurance agency owner, I managed the Commercial Lines Department, new business development, agency branding, and networking. My professional experience includes (in no particular order):* Sales, marketing & branding strategies* Insurance Underwriting* Implementing management concepts* Personnel Development In 2017, I exited (finally) the insurance business, and with my partner, Trevor, we launched Aurora Consulting, a Business Financing Brokerage to help entrepreneurs expand their enterprises with unique, cost-effective business financing solutions.When the pandemic hit and our business was shut down, we didn't give up. Instead, we pivoted and sought to help business owners learn the fundamentals of business financing and how to apply for the SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL). This experience made us stronger and more resilient. We had experience with how a business applies for a business loan, and along with our secret weapon, Trevor the retired loan officer, we helped to enlighten business owners who were navigating the very confusing EIDL process.Our business, Aurora Consulting, developed a national reputation assisting business owners and helped to secure a total of $70+ million in disaster funding for small business owners to thrive beyond COVID.BONUS: I launched a unique project called Biz Glitch 366. It's a mistake of the day and was an experiment with blockchain designed to support small business owners in navigating the complex world of business, with all the hats we must wear and the mistakes we can easily make along the way.You don't need to know anything about blockchain to get access to all 366 mistakes.

After 9 years, I returned to Sleepy Hollow and re-joined my father's agency. I assisted with technology upgrades, building our brand and networking with community and business organizations to expand our agency's visibility. In 2000, I earned my professional licenses including Life & Health, Series 6 and 63 and Property & Casualty Broker. In 2009, I discovered social media; and I was hooked. This opportunity provided the experience and knowledge to analyze risks, the ability to communicate with clients and the opportunity to enhance my marketing and prospecting skills.The position challenged me daily with obscure and complex risks such as marina accounts, cargo vessels, tugboats, stevedores liability.
