Profile bio

About Linda Roeder

With my two Bachelor degrees, one in Accounting and the other in Networking and Systems Security, I believe I would be an asset to any company. I love computers and I love numbers, this certainly made learning subnetting easy. Working with non-technical people to get in a calm manner to get their networks working again comes easily to me.I worked in accounting for from 1991-1998 working my way up to material buyer and inventory control specialist at the Pillsbury plant in Allentown, PA. In 1998 I began writing on the Web for About.com, Creative Weblogging, Suite 101, Associated Content, and other online sites. I also wrote the forward and a blurb on the back cover for "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Creating a Web Page & Blog, 6th Edition".In 2010 I went back to college for IT and decided on a degree in Network Security which I completed in December 2012, graduating Summa Cum Laude. I've been working with computers most of my life and have a passion for their inner workings. My time working in social media showed me the need for security, which is why I geared my degree toward security. While working as an Internet writer, I used to write about viruses and how to avoid them. Now I hope to help companies do the same thing, but in a different way.My degree is in Network Security and I've also studied networking for the CCNA. Learning more and being challenged is my passion. Earning a better life while helping others is my goal.

Sign Of The Times Clock Shoppe

My husband repairs mechanical clocks for people. For years I have been doing his taxes, but a couple years ago I started helping out. I first learned to repair Anniversary clocks (400 day clocks), which by the way, many clock repair people hate working on. I also can do most of the work on many other types of clocks; take them apart, clean them, put in bushings. It's putting the clock back together that's the hard part, I can figure out most of the gears, but all the other little parts are more challenging.

Help people repair their Internet networks and set up their email. This may seem boring on the surface, but really we help all kinds of people with their home networks and their email problems. This goes for the absolute novice to the business IT specialists. Walking them through their issues over the phone is sometimes a bit of a challenge, but with patience and perseverance, we make it through each time. It takes a lot of imagination on our part and knowing the right questions to ask.

Account Specialist I

New York , Ny, Us

Add, delete and edit customer's accounts and services. What this means is that when a person signed up for insurance with the company they work for, we would add them to the company's account along with there family members and whichever services they're signing up for. If they leave the company or decline insurance, we would remove their coverage. If they changed their coverage we would make changes. Since Guardian offered insurance all over the country, we were expected to know what the insurance laws were for each state. We also had to check the company's notes often because some companies offered more than what the standard laws offered. Insurance laws seem to change almost daily, there were lots of little sticky notes all over our desks to keep us informed so we could work quickly and efficiently.

Volunteer: Website Designer / Asst. Jr. Coordinator / Membership Director

Design and update the junior section of the website and send out email updates for the local cycling club for kids. I also help with the Tour de FCCC and help local kids learn more about cycling and the velodrome. For a couple years I was also the membership coordinator for the club and wrote grants for the junior program. We still belong to the club and I still volunteer when needed. When asked to coordinate the Tour de FCCC for the kids each year, I can't resist. I love seeing the kids having such a good time and give them something they can use their whole lives; cycling, fitness and good friends.
