Inducted into the National Fitness Hall of Fame in March of 2007, Linda Shelton stands as one of the country’s leading exercise authorities. She is an internationally recognized fitness and wellness consultant, certified trainer, speaker, and health writer. A former physical education and dance teacher and aerobic studio owner, Linda completed her undergraduate in physical education and master's work in exercise physiology.Former Fitness Director for all Weider/AMI women’s fitness publications including SHAPE Magazine, Natural Health and Fit Pregnancy for 23 years, and Fitness Director for VIVmag, a digital women’s lifestyle and fitness magazine for 6 years, she continues to write freelance. Linda is a three-time award winning director having produced, directed and/or choreographed over 4,000 fitness DVDs and virtual classes, co-produced four award-winning television fitness shows and authored eight books. Linda was a founding member of the Aerobic and Fitness Association (AFAA, 1983), co-authoring the Exercise Standards and Guidelines and Primary Certification examination, certifying thousands of fitness professionals worldwide. In demand as a “visionary” exercise programmer and developer of educational content, Linda has been engaged by some of the world’s most renowned and well-respected brands to deliver inspiring and highly-effective content, melding proprietary fitness tactics and business acumen, to power both personal transformation and brand competitiveness. She has been instrumental in the creation, development, writing and facilitation of: Zumba Toning™ with Beto Perez and STRONGnation™, Jillian Michaels BODYSHRED™, and others.Since 2017 to present, she has collaborated with numerous corporate clients, bringing both programming content and robust, multi-pronged digital strategies to market. Linda has carved a unique niche within the fitness, wellness, and lifestyle arenas, to bridge the gap in bringing creative and practical media experience along with the highest level of fitness expertise to the table in every project.Linda is President and Chief Visionary Officer of her three companies: Professional Fitness Services, a consulting, education and program development firm, RESCAPE™ Wellness LLC, a consumer, fitness and wellness resource and retreat business for the 50+ market, and SOULjourn, a full multi-media production company.
