The owner planned to transition to a website provider for real estate businesses, but did not have the funds at the time and needed to keep his current website operational.- I cleaned up and fixed several significant bugs including one that prevented customers from accessing and downloading photos - a primary function of the website. Principal Software EngineerSummit Healthcare It Consulting Feb 2010 - Jan 2015Consultant, Covenant Healthcare, Knoxville, TN- Hired as part of a team of consultants to help Covenant Healthcare with their Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) project using McKesson Horizon Expert Orders (HEO). Covenant is the largest hospital system in eastern Tennessee.- Initially assisted with installation and configuration of software, then developed html forms and style sheets in conjunction with clinical IT staff; these forms are for use by physicians. Worked with staff to convert Zynx evidence based forms to HEO intelligent forms.- Defined development process for this project.- Led team of 5 developers in creating and maintaining over 300 forms and supporting code for 7 Inpatient facilities and 7 Emergency Departments; mentored developers as they joined the team.- Provided support for all facility testing and go-lives.- As of January 2015, Covenant had met all American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) goals and stage 2 Clinical Quality Measures at all facilities implementing HEO.- Achieved physician adoption rates of 75% or higher.- Environment: HTML, JavaScript, Apache, Oracle, Shell scripting, Tortoise SVN, Zynx, Linux, Windows 7

After initial go-live, processed 600K+ orders in system at Duke University between September 2004 go-live and June 2007 (20K orders daily).- Led collaboration and integration effort with McKesson France personnel for CPOE product for French hospital settings.- Managed salary and personnel issues for 7 engineers, 3 business analysts.- Served simultaneously as Manager for CPOE Toolkit team (electronic orders build tool) for several months while a new resource was being recruited; this added 5 engineers and 3 business analysts to my group of reports.- Achieved less than 5% attrition rate between July 2003 and June 2007.- Primary Responsibilities: define product roadmap in conjunction with Product Management, define and track product requirements, define and track project schedule, manage staff task assignments, daily stand-ups with engineering and analysts, track defects, provide on-call customer support during go-lives, attend weekly customer status calls, review and sign-off user documentation, conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with each employee, conduct Personnel reviews, conduct interviewing and hiring, provide product updates for McKesson Executives, coordinate with Configuration Management and QA teams.- Assisted in acquiring CMMi Level 2 certification.- Environment: Java client on Windows PC, C++/Java back-end on HP, IBM and Linux, Apache HTTP server, Oracle -
