Led a team of 550 for a 93-bed, Level IV trauma center and community hospital governed by the local district in a location that serves as a border between the United States and Mexico. This included full P&L responsibility for $500M in annual revenue.· Served residents in Val Verde County (50,000 residents) plus parts of Kinney County, Maverick County, and Edwards County with 23,000 annual ED visits.· Recruited to lead financial and operational turn-around and establish strategic direction and growth plan for organization.· Executive and administrative oversight of VVRMC, multiple specialty clinics, large rural health clinic, and 23 skilled nursing facilities.· Created an internal IT department with the leadership of our CIO and terminated contract of an outsourced vendor.· Implemented Meditech Expanse for both hospital and ambulatory side, replacing 4 systems that were not integrated and considered legacy systems.· Established VVRMC as a Meditech Expanse Flagship Hospital and receive revenue as a site of excellence.· Developed and opened STEMI program 24/7/365, in partnership with Cardio-Solutions, and re-established volumes for the Cath lab.· Developed and implemented Ophthalmology service line in partnership with Gulf Coast Ophthalmology.· Achieved National Service Health Corp designation to be partnered with Primary care providers to serve in underserved areas to help cover loan forgiveness.
