As Data & Evaluation Manager for Washington Communities for Children (WCFC), an initiative of First 5 Fundamentals, I utilize community-driven, anti-racist, and equity-focused data collection best practices to manage data collection and evaluation activities that support early childhood policy and program initiatives and measure the collaborative impact of the WCFC Network.

As a Program Manager for First 5 FUNdamentals, I utilize systems thinking and Liberatory Design principles to support community-based initiatives working to improve the wellbeing of children, families, and communities.

Driven by a shared purpose to improve child, family, and community wellbeing, I coordinate a regional network of partners and community champions collaborating to improve resource access for children and families. I support priorities across five counties, align resources and processes, and maintain connectivity between local and statewide efforts.

As the Family Voice State Learning Network Lead, I coordinate a cross-sector and multi-regional collaboration of individuals working to strengthen how families and community members engage in system transformation. Utilizing Liberatory Design principles, I seek opportunities to help build local capacity, elevate family voice, and disrupt inequitable systems to improve resource access for children and families.

As a DSHS intern in the Economic Services Administration, I contributed to the organization’s mission of transforming lives. I developed and implemented communications and outreach strategies for an environmental scan to identify fatherhood-focused programs throughout Washington State. I managed respondent data and a centralized stakeholder information system. Through collaboration with agency partners, I curated case statements and dissemination materials about the impact of fatherhood on poverty, social-emotional development in children, stigmatization of fathers, and opportunities for systemic change to eliminate barriers.

As Program Technician, I supported our organization's efforts to break the spirit of poverty through the dignity of work by providing collaborative, compassionate, and innovative action. I managed the referral process for individuals seeking employment, training, and education opportunities, initiated enrollments, and connected participants to resources both within and outside of the organization. With attention to detail and knowledge of policy, I helped ensure program compliance and performed data validation. I collaborated with employment practitioners and our compliance specialist to improve the efficiency and quality of processes.

As Harvest Lead, I helped manage and direct our team in harvest, wash, and processing activities. I learned to operate heavy machinery and initiated simplifying processes and tasks through innovative approaches. I prioritized responsibilities and customer preferences with flexibility and efficiency, while adhering to Organic and GAP regulations. I kept organized records, developed a food safety plan, and initiated a harvest manual and formal SOPs. I represented BGF at networking and community events and participated in growing our customer reach to promote access to healthy, local food.

As an educator, I facilitated interactive learning experiences for visitors to the Lab. I collaborated with fellow educators and supervisors to adapt STEM-centered activities for kids and youth. I provided excellent instruction and customer relations to participants of diverse ages, experiences, and abilities. I supervised and oriented volunteers, managed large-group activities, and assisted with event logistics. In an effort to create sensory-friendly experiences for visitors and accommodate for learning needs, I completed an Autism awareness training through UNC-TEACCH to inform our activities and teaching methods. As a teaching assistant, I worked alongside educators to lead STEM classes.

As an experiential educator and program associate, I designed and led adventure and wilderness programs for youth through adult. As an instructor, I facilitated leadership development and character formation initiatives through experiential learning, spiritual discipline, and community service-learning projects. I developed marketing materials, recruited participants, and managed our social media networks. I assisted with communications, including writing newsletters, donor and stakeholder correspondence, and web content. I was certified as a Wilderness First Responder.
