• Worked on core Windows cryptography stack, implementing new functionality as well as security and bug fixes.• Implemented WPA3 Hash-to-Element key derivation algorithm, a requirement for Windows to receive Wi-Fi 6 certification.• Helped port SymCrypt cryptographic library to Linux and prepare it for Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) certification, including implementation of module integrity self-verification and cryptographic functionality tests. • Was one of the primary owners of the Windows Hello for Business client stack, handling design and implementation of new features, bug investigations and fixes, and onboarding and mentoring new team members.• Designed and implemented secure key management stack that runs in Windows Virtual Secure Mode (VSM), integrating with VSM biometrics to isolate user gestures and secrets from even kernel-level malware.• Designed Azure-powered PIN reset service which allows enterprise users to reset forgotten PINs using Azure multifactor authentication. Provided requirements to the service engineering team and implemented client-side functionality.• Used C++ for all Windows Hello for Business code, with some C as required for updating legacy components.

Worked with senior engineers on the initial implementation of the Windows Hello client infrastructure, including key management, Windows NCrypt API surface, and additional APIs called by UI components. Primarily used C++.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test on the Windows Security and Identity team, I helped ship valuable new enterprise features in Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1. My role entailed designing, developing and maintaining tests for the Windows smart card stack, and triaging and debugging test failures as necessary. In addition, I was involved in feature design discussions, functional and technical design document reviews, code reviews, and the development of prototypes, sample code, and additional test tools. One such tool I developed is a kernel-mode driver which simulates a crucial piece of hardware, facilitating automated testing of related scenarios without relying on special lab infrastructure to support the physical hardware. Technologies used include C, C++, C#, JavaScript, XAML, and .NET.

I completed a sixteen-month internship with Pason through the University of Alberta Industrial Internship Program. During my tenure at Pason, I developed a number of features for the Pason Operations internal web application. Among these were a JavaScript-heavy homepage re-design, a mobile web interface, a framework for asynchronously executing large web-based reports, and an API for integrating two technologically disparate systems. Technologies used included Python, MySQL, Java, jQuery, and jQuery UI.

At HMV, I sold many plastic discs, and helped customers find the plastic discs they were looking for.
