The Sydney office represent Swedish business’ interest in Australia and Oceania, selling and delivering tailored consultancy projects to our clients. Business has increased by over 300 percent over the last five years and today eight full time employees in Australia execute +60 projects annually. The Trade Commissioner´s role is to lead the office, drive sales and build long term relationships with the major Swedish subsidiaries and their most important clients locally. In close collaboration with the majority of the approx. 180 subsidiaries present in Australia we have during the last five years created a number of successful industry promotion platforms initiatives (for example in Mining, Defence, Civil Security, Dairy and the Energy Sector). The Swedish Mining Initiative is our biggest such initiative, 2014 in Perth 15 Swedish mining suppliers were present to network with over 250 decision makers in the Australian mining community. In 2010 I initiated the Mining conference which was first launched in Australia and later became responsible to roll this out on all key mining markets internationally parallel with my current role. The Trade Commissioner is command of 8 employees in the office. Main responsibilities are to lead consultancy projects and sell new projects. STC roughly sell and deliver 55 projects annually in Australia. The office in Sydney has doubled the revenue and number of projects from 2007 to 2011.Hired as Project Manager which is second in command in 2007, with the key responsibilities to sell and lead consultancy projects. Was promoted to Senior Project Manager in 2011 after successfully acted as the Office Manager for 6 months in 2009-2010 during the paternity leave of my manager (a period the office turned around a -400 TSEK result to +400 TSEK) My main contribution to the way we worked with sales was to focus on market activities that interested our biggest Swedish companies, thereby interacting with the most important Australian companies in each industry which enabled us to maximize the opportunities also for our SME’s. Typical consultancy projects are; market analysis, partner search, pre-acquisition analysis, sales support and promotional activities. One example of an analytical project is when we spent 6 months to map and evaluate the global potential in mining for a client with a big defence footprint. Another example is a project where I have supported a SME in the utility sector since 2009 and achieved sales in most of the states.

A great start to my professional career with 2.5 years of inspirational and developing work with competent colleagues. Was promoted to consultant after one year. Key learning’s during this period were; project & change management, creating & implementing business cases and executing recruiting processes. Specific major project experience were;* Supported one Swedish client in setting up an European Finance Function in Poland (relocating the finance operations from 12 countries across Europe) the initial phase included five countries over 12 months. The project budget was 3 MEURO and this successful implementation led to at least 10 new similar projects with other clients for BearingPoint the coming years. * Assisted one Swedish client during 6 months with a market expansion in Sweden. My responsibilities were to analyse the business case and compare the potential per region to set the final business strategy. The project budget was 1 MEURO. -
