Dr. Lindokuhle B. Gama is an emerging scholar currently working at the Department of Philosophy at Rhodes University. Dr. Gama specializes in African philosophy with expertise in fields as Critical African Feminisms, Non-Ideal Critical Theory, and Ethics. Dr. Gama’s research critically examines the intersections of racialized gender, sexuality and value theories in African philosophy. Dr. Gama completed their PhD in Philosophy at the University of Pretoria, with a thesis titled ‘Recognizing and Defending the Moral Value of Blackwomxn: A Critical Feminist Analysis of Normative African Conceptions of Personhood’ (2024). Their academic background also includes an MA in African European Cultural Relations and an Honors degree in Philosophy, obtained with cum laude distinctions and an undergraduate degree in International Relations. Dr. Gama has presented their research at several national and international conferences, sharing insights on African philosophy. In addition to their extensive conference participation, Dr. Gama actively contributes to the academic community through publications that challenge traditional philosophical frameworks and advocate for more inclusive approaches to philosophical discourses to reflect the continuities and discontinuities in the African context.
