•Preparation and execution of various Process chemical routine tests •Coordinating with field production and maintenance personnel to evaluate the performance and history of engineering materials and equipment•Continuous improvement initiative such as (5s) to reduce and maintain spoilage below given thresholds by the use of root cause analyses methodologies•Testing of equipment and to make sure they function correctly and produce the expected results.•Co-coordinating testing and commissioning activities and providing advice on testing and commissioning procedures and documentations.•Coordinate with other commissioning discipline (Electrical, Instrumentation, to start –up, test and troubleshoot multiple integrated plant systems).•Ensuring the safe testing and commissioning of all equipment•Cold and Hot commissioning of all equipment’s•Coaching the operators to complete the maximum possible amount of follow-up on their own when items are not as per normal operation.•Conduct daily mechanical checks using standard laboratory equipment and perform planned maintenance as per plant schedule , as well when line condition allows such actions •Ensuring chemical process treatment in all stages is in control as aluminum CANS manufacturing standard•Monitoring raw water quality , both incoming water to the process and effluent water ensuring compliance of the effluent plant according to municipality standard•Monitoring Soft water and DI water treatment plants ensuring that they meet plant operations specifications.•Responsible for the Drum Boiler performance •Monitor Process parameters to be within products specifications•Analysis of controlled parameters for determination of most efficient production control and implementation of procedures•Ensuring that aluminum CAN, Soft water and DI water plant complies to process safety requirements

•Daily calibration of laboratory instruments such as (Auto titrate, Turbidity and Chlorine instrument)•Giving recommendations to Operations and corrective actions on water quality issues. •Contract payments, quality control, keeping to the time and cost scales and liaising with all stakeholder•Compilation of Projects’ Scope of Work (SOW), System Specifications and Bill of Quantities (BOQ), Technical Specifications.•Developing plant mass balance calculations and carrying out functional designs of the process plants (e.g. Pipe hydraulics & pump sizing).•Generation, reviewing and updating of Plant Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) and Plant General Arrangement drawings (Plant GAs).•Preparing detailed Process engineering packages (e.g Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, Equipment data sheets, Process descriptions, Equipment list, valve list and Hazop report.•Liaise with other specialist such as design engineers and Quality assurance specialists.•Participate in Route Cause Analysis (RCA) •Participating in Plant Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies.•Interfacing with other Engineering disciplines, Consultants, Project teams and Contractors to accomplish completely integrated process plant designs.•Working together with Project Execution Engineers in plant commissioning.•Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 18001 and ISO14001•Knowledge of ASME b31.3, ASME b36.1, ANSE 16.5, SANS 53121 ,SANS 347,SANS10228•Responsible for hosting and leading contractors

•Define instruction concerning process key parameters •Define production condition of new or modified installations •Conduct production process studies and audits to plant operations•Address process / production bottlenecks for better output , and greater stability and an improvement in environmental aspects •Regularly monitor the parameters relating to plant operations. •Determine root cause of equipment failure•Analyze and interpret process problems and initiate corrective actions•Optimization of system performance/ redesign•Improvement through establishment and maintenance effective system to plant and services•Monitor and analysis of lab data making necessary adjustments to ensure that product quality conforms to ISO standards, on a shift basis•Calculate and effectively compiles daily information on equipment performance•Co-ordinate equipment shutdown with maintenance to ensure equipment availability for necessary repairs while minimizing downtime•Investigate possible causes for abnormal kiln operation and mill stoppages•Reviewing the plant life cycle systems and components operating lifespan , and efficiencies through inspection •Determine primary components system that require modification / redesign•Ensuring that the plant is stable and operating at set parameters (SOP).•Constantly reviews the operation of the plant to monitor production and quality, anticipating and solving problem , and identifying opportunities for improvement
