As the Managing Director of Nkambula Engineering, I lead a team of engineers and technicians who provide hazardous areas classification, design, installation, and inspection services to clients in the chemicals, mining, and oil and gas industries. I have successfully delivered multiple projects that improved the safety, efficiency, and compliance of our clients' operations, while also growing the company's revenue and reputation in the market. Some of the notable projects include a large-scale hazardous areas assessment for a petrochemical plant, a comprehensive explosion prevention strategy for a coal mine, and a custom-made hazardous areas training program for a metal refinery.My passion for physics and engineering stems from my academic background, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science Honours in Nuclear Physics and a Master of Engineering in Nuclear Power from the University of Pretoria and the University of Cape Town, respectively. I have also published several papers on nuclear physics and explosion prevention in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.I am currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at GIBS Business School, where I am learning how to apply strategic, financial, and leadership skills to enhance my engineering and management capabilities. My goal is to expand Nkambula Engineering's portfolio and impact, and to contribute to the development and innovation of the hazardous areas sector in South Africa and beyond.
