Lindsay Bobyak is a versatile musician, dedicated educator, and accomplished entrepreneur based in Colorado. She holds degrees including an Associate of String Instrument Technology, Bachelor of Music, and Master of Music from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University and was selected as one of 40 international leaders in music for the 2018 cohort of Global Leaders Institute.During her time at IU, Lindsay studied string pedagogy under the guidance of renowned mentors such as Brenda Brenner, Lawrence Hurst, and Mimi Zweig. Lindsay worked with the IU String Academy and Fairview Violin Project while studying with Brenda Brenner.Following the completion of her Master's degree, Lindsay completed a service year with Americorps program ArtistYear in the Roaring Fork Valley where she was placed with the Basalt Middle and High School Band Program. While her trumpet career never took off, Lindsay has spent her summers in the bass sections of music festivals including Orford Music Academy, Brevard Music Center, and the Aspen Music Festival and School. She currently performs with the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra and is principal bassist for the High Country Sinfonia.Lindsay's commitment to music extends beyond performance. In 2019, she was chosen as one of 40 international leaders in music to join the Global Leaders Institute, an executive leadership program for social changemakers in arts innovation. As part of this program, Lindsay served as a consultant for NGOs and shared her musical expertise with rural music programs in the Los Lagos region of Chile and a chamber music festival in Naolinco, Mexico.As a seasoned performer and educator, Lindsay has left her musical footprint across the Americas, conducting workshops and performing in the United States, El Salvador, Chile, and Mexico. Currently residing in the Roaring Fork Valley in Colorado, she is the Manager of Education and Community Programs for the Aspen Music Festival and School. In this role, Lindsay directs after-school strings programming for over 200 students, manages Teaching Artist staff, and coordinates musical residencies throughout the Roaring Fork Valley.In addition to her pivotal role with AMFS, Lindsay maintains a small private studio of dedicated violin and bass students, is a freelance performer, a published author, and is the visionary founder and director of Creative Roots Collective—an arts and literacy initiative established in 2020.
