I am a videographer for CMU's student newspaper, Central Michigan Life (CM-Life). I collaborate with the writers of the newspapers on stories they are writing, then create video content to go along with that story. I cover events as well as conduct interviews. I also shot and edit my own video then upload it to CM-Life's Vimeo and YouTube accounts.

Here at WOOD TV 8 I have been able to shadow all positions in the newsroom. I shadowed news reporters who went out on assignments, as well as work at the assignment desk and answer phone calls and emails. I also was able to get a lot of experience in writing. I assisted the web staff in writing stories for the WOOD TV website. I also shadowed producers frequently and learned how to write scripts for television and the proper format for a show.

Holland, Michigan

My responsibilities include going to events in the Holland area recording video, then editing that footage into natural sound video packages. Other types of videos that I helped produce were City Connections, a half an hour program, live broadcast of parades during the Tulip Time Festival, and various concerts throughout the year. I also help live broadcast meetings that happened in City Hall including City Council and Board of Appeals. Programs that I use include TeamViewer to schedule videos and other programs onto HCTV's Public and Government channels. Another program I use to edit videos is Final Cut Pro. I also know how to work with JVC HD cameras.
