I know that my prior work experience and training in Meredith College’s ParalegalProgram will make me a valuable part of your team, and I am excited at the possibility ofworking with such an outstanding organization.My organizational and communication skills are well demonstrated in my workexperiences. Currently, I am using my creative side by designing and decorating custom sugarcookies. My role at the bakery has taught me valuable time management and self-supervisionskills as I am frequently unsupervised and left to complete my assignments on my own beforea deadline. This requires completing multiple different tasks simultaneously with differentdeadlines.Previously, I worked as a development manager with Pretty In Pink Foundation whereI performed many administrative duties including scheduling, answering phones and emails,coordinating volunteers, and using spreadsheets and donor databases. Additionally, I haveworked various office assistant positions throughout high school and college where I wasproficient at filing, distributing mail, organizing, Microsoft, and customer service.In Meredith College’s paralegal certificate program, I specialized in both civil andcriminal litigation as well as immigration law. The program has given me experience in legalwriting including case briefs, memos, and tables of authorities. In addition, I have practicedrafting and filing summons, complaints, answers, subpoenas, motions, etc. I haveexperience logging hours in CLIO as well as practice with E-discovery through DICSO and athorough understanding of researching on Westlaw.I consider myself a strong activist for things like criminal justice reform, genderequality, and LGBTQ+ rights by attending marches, volunteering, voting, signing and sharingpetitions, and contacting legislatures to encourage policy change.
