Managed almost $7M in federal funding in Pittsburgh's Build Back Better programming aimed at increasing the number of underrepresented technologists in the southwestern Pennsylvania region. Created new programming in partnership with several local women-led organizations to meet these goals.

Researched policy and legislation on behalf of the Mayor and for other senior members of the Administration. Focused on policies surrounding community engagement, racial and gender equity and equitable development.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Authored and engineered the content and roll out of HR 2617 which is currently in being considered by House Committee on the Judiciary with 11 bipartisan cosponsors. Drafted legislation and memos on matters of interest and concern to the Office, largely surrounding judiciary, education and labor issues. Attended committee hearings and briefings on behalf of the legislative staff.Edited legislative correspondence in response to constituent mail.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Aided in the preparation, coordination, and staffing of events attended by Members of Congress. Maintained substantial database of correspondence from Congressional offices to the President. Assisted in the public media roll out of national policies on behalf of the Office of the President of the United States especially surrounding criminal justice reform.

New York, New York

Supported the office of constituent services, including speaking with the public knowledgeably about current events and policies that Senator championed. Staffed the Senator at events within the New York City community, attending as a representative and drafted correspondence to exemplary constituents on behalf of the Senator.

New York, New York

Responded to constituent concerns regarding immigration affairs and complications with issues like visa applications, deportation and repatriation. Operated the front desk, handling constituent calls, guiding inquires to the appropriate departments and other duties to support the functionality of the office.

Malaysia

Awarded prestigious grant to teach English language to secondary aged students in rural Malaysia to over 300 students weekly.Conducted district level language intensive courses for students beyond the requirements of the program.

Greater New York City Area

Aide to Council Member Jessica Lappin in District 5 (Manhattan) to serve as a councilmanic aide. Works as a representative of the Council Member to assist constituents with various problems as well as advocating for the needs and concerns of the district. Coordinates regularly with government agencies and community organizations.

Wheaton College, Norton Ma

Served as a liaison between the Wheaton College student body and the Administration, while overseeing the SGA Executive Board and Senate. Oversaw the allocation of over $500,000 to Wheaton College student clubs, interests groups and programming to better the student experience.

Developed and ran programming surrounding identity formation and dialogue between students. Expanded an online education initiative on LGBTA issues and other markers of identity.

Cape Town Area, South Africa

Created a program called “Hear Me” on positive youth expression through the creative arts that will be included in Africa Unite’s long time running programs and implemented in Fall 2012. Facilitated community dialogues with young gang members in the Gugulethu township in partnership with local government to begin helping the youth involved.

Worked to create comprehensive evacuation plans in the case of a major emergency that necessitated a city wide evacuation. Researched strategies to ensure the Office of the Mayor would continue to operate after a disruptive event.

Collaborated with Professor McCormack to support the First Year Seminar, “No Place Like Home”.Advised incoming freshmen of the Class of 2014 and guide them through their first year of college.
