What do you do with an art degree? People have been asking me that question since I declared my major way back when. I spent years searching for the answer, and I think I’ve finally found it.I am a youth development professional on a mission to support young people as they develop into the adults they are meant to be. I am passionate about the arts in every form and especially about using the arts as a means through which youth to learn, grow, develop, achieve and flourish. Having spent nearly two decades honing my skills in the field, I have become adept at integrating arts education outside the classroom, building curriculum with a focus on emotional intelligence and self-expression, and facilitating creative discovery. Every day, I show youth that the arts have value, that the skills they develop in the arts can apply to many other fields and/or interests, and that creativity is a superpower. Think imaginatively, solve problems creatively, build positive relationships, engage in a community, bring ideas to fruition, communicate effectively, elevate youth voice, teach life skills, and make the world a better place.
