In my work as a psychologist, I specialize in the treatment of children, adolescents and young adults with anxiety and health-related adjustment issues. My current practice primarily focuses on pain management and treatment of functional gastrointestinal illness and headache. I work with children and families on techniques for health behavior change related to encopresis and weight management. I utilize cognitive-behavior therapy techniques in my individual and family work as well as biofeedback and hypnosis. I have presented research at national conferences related to the topic of pain management and authored articles and book chapters related to the management of functional gastrointestinal illness.When I am not practicing psychology, I am making ice cream. I am the author of Scoop Adventures: The Best Ice Cream of the 50 States, an ice cream cookbook featuring unique and creative recipes from ice cream shops in all 50 states.
