GetAFive in an online video-based test prep company focused on the Advanced Placement exams. Within months of launch we secured partnerships with some of the largest school districts in the United States and had customers from 6 countries. Within 14 months of launch, we captured over 20% of the market for one of our courses.GetaFive was acquired in 2014 by Tutor.com/The Princeton Review (part of IAC).I came up with the idea, completed the initial customer research, and oversaw the development of the core product, website, and marketing materials with a team of a few incredibly talented people. Raised a seed round to develop the content. Demonstrated product/market fit and customer acquisition/scaling viability within 6 months.This was all accomplished with less than $400,000 of seed capital.

I was responsible for the operations of the Chicago startup incubator, focused on consumer technology startups from ideation through scale. The Chicago incubation team consisted of EIRs and developers and utilized a pool of shared resources that included designers, accountants, and PR. Managed a multi-million dollar budget to create new businesses from scratch that had promise. I left this role to become CEO of GetaFive, one of the ideas I brought into Sandbox.

The company I co-founded, mamaloot.com, was acquired by FamilyFinds, a daily deals site for families based out of LA. I'm thrilled to be working with such a talented group of people on a mission to bring amazing deals to local families and profitable new customer relationships to local businesses.

I'm co-founder of a new daily deals site catering to moms in the Chicagoland area. When we officially launch we'll be offering deals on great family friendly businesses so that moms can learn about and try products and services for themselves and their families. And oh yeah, save a few bucks while clothing and entertaining their kids, keeping the house in tip top shape, and squeezing in a little time for themselves.
