In early 2021 I re-joined the family business to keep my mom's dream alive... and our base of valuable clients served and supported! Since then, I led a major rebranding campaign, oversaw two significant hiring campaigns, instituted new technologies for scheduling and project management, and developed new training programs and internal processes to best support our staff. As Director of Operations, my goal is to keep each service branch of our company working together cohesively to ensure our clients' needs are met, our staff is top quality and feeling fulfilled, our marketing program is attracting desired clients, and our revenue is meeting (and, these days, exceeding!) quarterly targets. I am beyond proud to be a part of a small (but mighty!), independent, woman-owned local business in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.I grew up in this company, working summers and school holidays as a Moving and Design Associate, so developing marketing and training materials and attracting the right people to our team comes as second nature. Our services are extremely valuable to clients and organizations in our community, and our business offers a fair-paying, inclusive, and supportive community for our employees. I believe what we do is important - we're here first not for the profits, but for the people we serve. Before returning to Specialty Moves by Design, I had worked extensively in the area of my other passion: art history and art museums. An accomplished curator, project manager, researcher, and writer, I believe this wide range of experience has had a major impact on my ability to co-lead a small business today.

After two shutdowns, many staff resignations to care for family members, and much uncertainty from our clients and our community partners, I'm proud to say we've not only recovered, but are looking stronger than ever.In early 2021 I re-joined the family business to keep my mom's dream alive... and our base of valuable clients served and supported! Curator Of Collections And ExhibitionsMasur Museum Of Art Mar 2018 - Aug 2020Monroe, Louisiana AreaI wore several hats at the Masur Museum, but was primarily responsible for collections management and exhibition curation/coordination. My efforts resulted in four or more temporary exhibitions each year, which I managed from conception to installation and beyond. Much of my work was highly visible to the public: I completed research, produced didactic materials, designed exhibition layouts, wrote interpretive and promotional materials, and created relevant digital content for our social media pages. What the public didn't see was the 1-2 years of research, contract negotiation, and logistics planning (plus the literal sweat of installations!) that went into each exhibition.I also maintained and cared for the permanent collection, adding data to the Past Perfect database, completing inventories, recommending and implementing accessions and de-accessions, and overseeing and advising on storage and transportation. Finally, I was also instrumental in strengthening our volunteer and internship program and improving our social media presence, resulting in increased online audience. -
Digital Projects ManagerPure Protect, Ll May 2020 - Jul 2020Allentown, Pennsylvania, United StatesI developed a website with an online store to market air purification technology. I also assisted the Founder/CEO in brand creation and strategy, and drafting/editing various text (website copy, official correspondence, employee policies, and a forthcoming e-book). In addition, I designed and developed the Pure Protect, LLC logo and created business cards for the staff.

Collections InternAllentown Art Museum Of The Lehigh Valley Mar 2016 - Sep 2016Allentown, Pennsylvania AreaI assisted in many aspects of Collections management - from accessioning and de-accessioning objects, to completing conservation reports, to assisting in inventories and collection re-organization. Notably, I assisted the textiles expert to re-catalog (photograph, measure, and condition) the museum's 8,000 piece collection of textiles and costume and assist in a remediation/conservation response following a moth infestation. -
Design AssistantSenior Moves By Design Jan 2009 - Sep 2016Allentown, PennsylvaniaI worked at Senior Moves by Design over my breaks in High School and College, gradually developing my skills and increasing my contributions to the company. I began by painting walls for the real estate staging side of the business, and then moved into helping pack, move, and unpack clients moving into independent living communities. Eventually, I led the design department in creating to-scale furniture pieces and floor plans to show the client's furniture in their new space. I continued to help pack and unpack the client's items before and during the move, but was instrumental in helping arrange and hang the client's artwork in their new home. I continued to assist my supervisors with real estate staging to help sell the client's previous home, often helping to make design decisions in addition to physically arranging furniture and artworks. I managed one large clean-out and staging project, supervising teams of 4-6 associates through the process. I have also helped lead training workshops for new employees, and represented the company at local events and trade fairs. -
Advanced Curatorial InternThe Trout Gallery Jun 2014 - Mar 2015Carlisle, PennsylvaniaI curated an exhibition titled "Bones: Representing the Macabre," which examined the way our skeletons are presented in a variety of art. I produced an exhibition brochure with an essay on the theme (available from the link below) as well as all of the research and exhibition didactic materials. I also designed a mobile tour app with the help of two Computer Science students and wrote, recorded, and edited content for an audio tour of each object. Additionally, I led meetings with museum staff on museum technology and represented the museum at the AIPAD photography show in New York to select new purchases for the collection.

Student CuratorThe Trout Gallery Aug 2014 - Feb 2015Carlisle, PaAs part of Dickinson College's art history program, senior students co-curate an exhibition at the college art museum, The Trout Gallery. My group's exhibition was titled "The Spirit of the Sixties: Art as an Agent for Change." Each of us researched a selection of objects and produced an article for the exhibition catalog. We also worked together to organize the exhibition layout, choose wall colors, edit didactic materials, and select a design for the catalog. I also personally produced a large-scale wall vinyl timeline for historical context of the exhibition. In my article, I examined themes of peace activism through the displayed works of Pablo Picasso, Ben Shahn, and Corita Kent. A pdf of the catalog is available at www.troutgallery.org.
