At OFT Law, I get to fight for justice for those who cannot get it themselves. The majority of my practice consists of representing individuals sickened with foodborne pathogens (Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria, Cyclospora, etc.) as they bring claims against food companies and insurers. Additionally, I handle general personal injury cases including car crashes, dog attacks, and fire injury cases.

Handled a variety of injury claims, including those related to food poisoning, commercial truck crashes, fires and explosions, product liability, wrongful death, Legionnaire's disease, police brutality and dog attacks. Notable work included representing: -the family of a man who died of asphyxia in a tanker trailer that had been filled with an ethanol by-product that was not generally considered harmful (MN)-the family of a man who died in a house fire, which required extensive expert discovery in cause & origin of the fire and fire alarm failure (MD)-the family of a woman who died in a commercial truck crash with a commercial driver that had a past history of a wreck under similar conditions (ND)-victims of food poisoning outbreaks (Multiple states)-police brutality victims in Section 1983 civil rights claims (MN)

Supported client advocacy in product liability and personal injury actions by assisting in many areas of litigation.

Interviewed multiple in-custody clients with various allegations prior to arraignments; represented them for hearings. Assisted supervising attorneys on loaded pre-trial calendars, and communicated with clients about their legal options. Prioritized and sorted case files, corresponded with incarcerated clients to manage open files while they remained incarcerated on other charges, and filed the necessary motions with the court per the client’s request.

• Operating a hotline phone for victims of general crime in order to provide them with information about their rights.• Working with police to contact victims of domestic violence after an arrest has been made so that their input may be recorded.• Assisting the Minneapolis City Attorney’s office with compiling information for domestic violence arraignments to be presented in court.• Serving as a confidential listener for victims as they deal with the stress of crime and violence.

• Answered constituent questions regarding legislation via phone, mail, and email, acting as a connection point between a politician and his people.• Aided staffers with general office tasks to promote an effective, efficient office environment.• Composed official documents and letters that were used in correspondence and in the press.

• Tutored non-native speakers of English at Lincoln Middle School in Washington, DC, in order for them to gain competence in school and life using their new second language.
