As a part of the expansion of my health and wellness platform and to provide an opportunity to local small business owners, in 2020 I undertook the endeavor of conceptualizing, crafting and constructing Jamaica Aromatics.The mission of this company is to provide Jamaican made aromatherapy and health and wellness products, hand-crafted with love by dynamic artisans, to health conscious individuals visiting the island. Doors to the outlet officially opened in February 2021 inside the departure lounge at the MBJ airport.

In March, 2017 I decided it was time to venture out on my own and founded Elevate PR & Consulting. Building my own consultancy from the ground up allowed me to grow as a person and professional through taking on the critically imperative position of jack of all trades. Initially Dubai based, I had the pleasure of working with brands including; Define Dubai, Miss Lily's DXB and Barry's Bootcamp Dubai. This included overseeing the branding and promotions for all three organizations, creating communications strategies, working with in-house management on everything from the addition of new menu items to collaborating with US franchise holders on which promotions and activations to implement. I was also able to undertake the gratifying opportunity of assisting startups to define their image, messaging and overall branding strategies. This venture encouraged me to think bigger, dig deeper and go global.

As an Account Manager for the F&B team, overseeing a small team of Account Executives, I developed communications strategies, ensured maximum visibility for clients, planned and executed tastings and launch events, ensured all F&B client expectations were exceeded and monitored and evaluated campaign effectiveness. During my tenure in this position I worked to launch the groundbreaking Indian inspired restaurant, Tamba; directly oversaw the PR direction for the acclaimed Pierchic and worked on the opening of the hugely successful Lebanese concept, Al Falamaki. I also worked on clients in the luxury automotive, entertainment, art & culture and design sectors.

During my tenure as an Account Executive at CGR, I worked across all of the agencies departments, affording me a 360 degree approach to many campaign strategies through the use of Digital, Advertising and Public Relations methods. This environment additionally allowed for me to work directly with the Creative, Digital/Coding, and Copywriting teams. Clients included Pepsi, Gatorade, Hyundai, Scotiabank and FC Barcelona. Did I mention I also had the chance to do some on screen work...

Working as the Marketing and Communications Specialist at the Digicel Foundation provided me with a challenging and extremely awarding job function; bringing awareness to the projects that the Foundation carried out across the Education, Special Needs and Community Development sectors in Jamaica. I was responsible for all of the communication coming out of the Foundation including; newsletters, press releases, annual reports, social media, videos, web stories, speeches and branding. Additionally, I hosted all of the Foundation's events from school openings to a 5K for Special Needs awareness that saw 10,000 participants and a 10th Anniversary celebration at which the Prime Minister was the keynote speaker. This required me to work closely with the procurement and branding teams as well as outside contractors and suppliers such as photographers and videographers. I was also responsible for the yearly Communications budget.

While on contract at the British High Commission, it was my responsibility to locate past Chevening Alumni scholars across Jamaica and the Bahamas thereby creating a database of influential stakeholders. This required media placements, social media outreach, cold calling and other tactics. Once members were located, I was also responsible for setting up an online network for discussions and to maintain contact. I was additionally responsible for events held in Jamaica and the Bahamas to launch the new networks.

During this contract I was responsible for all of the Sponsor Relations for the JCDC throughout the Jamaica 50 celebrations. This included ensuring that sponsors received all of their entitlements, fulfilled their contracted requirements and abided by all the regulations set forth for each individual event. This included sending event memos and briefs, conducting site visits and sponsor meetings. I was additionally in charge of overseeing all set up and pull down of branding and booths and was responsible for all giveaways and awards.

As a Freelancer in the Marketing Department at BET, I had the privilege of working on the BET Awards. This was my first insight into running a major event.I additionally assisted with day to day Marketing tasks such as creating decks and preparing proposals to be pitched to sponsors. I also produced e-blast and other promotional material associated with event promotions and assisted in updating company related press and promotional material.

This internship allowed me to see how press releases are viewed by recipients in the newsroom. It afforded invaluable insight into the workings of a news organization and provided me with a comprehensive view of the entire communications process.

As my first agency experience, my internship at Max Borges gave my great insight into the world of Public Relations. The team was eager to help me learn and assisted me in pitching tactics, media gifting and database management. I also wrote and disseminated my first set of media alerts.
