After graduating with a degree in Financial Economics, I became a financial paraplanner for partners at Millfield Partnership. They were very supportive and helped me to progress to Financial Adviser status within 2 years, becoming the youngest adviser in a firm of 200 advisers. At the time only 5% of the financial advisers in the UK were female. In 2005 I joined Secondsight, specialising in employee benefits. I respect the Secondsight philosophy - where emphasis is placed on financial education and employee welfare. I thoroughly enjoy working within the strong framework of this business. Due to unforeseen circumstances, (my 2nd child being critically ill) I had a career break lasting several years. She is now recovered and doing well and I have therefore returned to my employment at Secondsight. I am a passionate believer in financial protection (no one needs the added stress of money worries when going through illness or bereavement). I also believe in frank and open conversations with people (including my children) on money, health and bereavement. Rather than cause worry, I see the reassurance and empowerment it gives. In my spare time I like to be out in nature. Either on my own, or with my partner and daughters. We are fortunate to live in the centre of Canterbury where we can paddleboard along the city’s river taking routes out into the Kent countryside.
