Responsible for creating and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships. Monitor and ensure efficient department workflow and patient care. Apply elements of the PDSA performance improvement model, including developing and implementing system redesign projects. Participate in clinical service level decision-making, including strategic planning, forecasting performance improvement, and patient care outcomes. Formulate, review, and revise policies and other professional practice standards optimizing patient service delivery. Support continuum of care for Veterans receiving services with the VA and Community Vendors through CCN/Triwest. Responsible for evaluating employee performance and implementing education programs, including in-services, orientation, and compliance with continuing education. Assure compliance with national patient safety goals, evaluate one's and others' practices against the standard of training and relevant accrediting and regulatory bodies (professional nursing organization, nurse practice acts, Joint Commission, OSHA), and take action to improve compliance. Participate in clinical service level decision-making, including strategic planning, forecasting performance improvement, and patient care outcomes. Chair and Co-Chair of several Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 23 workgroups and program redesigns projects.
