I am a recent graduate from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have my bachelors in Human Development with a concentrating in Children, Youth, and Families, with a minor in Sociology. During this time, I have been a co-founder in a semester long volunteer project. During this time my group collected over 500 stuffed animals that were donated to children who have been affected by disasters (house fire, hurricanes, car crashes, etc.) During my time at UNCG I also completed an internship at Exceptional Families LLC. For my internship I worked with a client in his home. My goal working with my client was to make him more independent and to increase his quality of life. I also have experience working in a preschool. I started out as an assistant teacher in 2014. In 2015 I was promoted to the head of the afterschool care. During this time, I oversaw making lesson plans for the students, telling parents about in incidents that may have happened (cuts, scrapes, bumps, etc.) and helping the staff handle the children. I also worked as a lead teacher. During this time, I made lesson plans and ensured that the children educational play and activities during their time with me. Prior to me working at the preschool, I worked as a CNA in a memory care unit. During this time, I assisted lead nurses in making care plans for my residents. I then made sure to work with the other CNA’s to ensure that the care plans were carried out. I did this by helping the residents with their activities of daily living. I would also provide activities such as puzzles and games to help the residents feel more comfortable with not only myself but the other staff.
