As Interview Facilitator I attend all the 150+ interviews for shortlisted entries and provide the independent observer role which ensures consistency across all judging. In previous years I have undertaken the administration and coordination of the 70+ judges, plus day-to-day management of the interview process. I have also been known to while away the hours writing the copy for the Awards Dinner booklet, identifying the salient points of each shortlisted campaign and highlighting why they satisfy best practice across the industry.

A member of the senior management team with responsibility for PR, communications and reputation management of the Society, the UK Aerospace Industry and Farnborough International, the world’s largest aerospace trade exhibition. The role spanned advising the Directors, Council and senior staff on all PR matters, liaising with member companies, plus devising and implementing awareness and lobbying campaigns for the media, industry, politicians and civil servants.

A predominantly tactical role responsible for setting and delivering the strategy for regional media relations across the UK. Primary liaison contact with the membership, plus briefing and reporting to the senior management team, officers and council.

A PR specialist with sole responsibility for clients – setting and delivering media strategies. Clients included a window fabricator, motor parts manufacturer, a concrete framework manufacturer and a company that made equipment to test concrete pipes for fractures.

A promotion to the corporate PR department provided the opportunity to work on high-level issues at a really 'challenging' time for the company - failed rights issue, lowest ever share price, the sale of Rover Cars, etc. This provided an excellent opportunity to learn crisis management skills and the importance and value of good investor relations.

The company sponsored my business degree and I was initially employed as an undergraduate trainee at the Kingston, Surrey site. After the first year of studies I was offered a full-time position in the Public Relations department (for the Harrier and Hawk aircraft) and switched universities to continue studying for my degree on a part-time basis in the evenings and work full-time.
