I oversaw the organization's policy and advocacy work, which encompassed local and state grassroots organizing, stakeholder education, and mobilization around school board and General Assembly policymaking. In this role, I created our Teacher Fellows program, a policy and advocacy fellowship for local teachers, the Greenville Community Read, an equity-centered annual book study, and a statewide coalition of supporters of public education. Additionally, I researched and drafted the organization's annual Advocacy Agenda - the document that guided its policy and advocacy efforts - alongside key stakeholders including students, teachers, parents, and community partners.

Ran an inspired, albeit unsuccessful, campaign for one of two at-large seats on Greenville's city council. Our platform included a commitment to affordable housing, economic equality, and government accessibility and transparency. With just three months to build and execute our campaign, we came just 200 votes shy of winning a Democratic primary against an established, well-funded candidate and engaged tons of newcomers to campaign work in the process.
