From Sept 2010 through Nov 2014, I was a server at Bocado, consistently leading the team with the highest sales. In 2015 I was promoted to manager, where I gained valuable first-hand knowledge within the restaurant industry while interacting with customers and employees. During this same time, in 2012, I accepted a position at the Atlanta Ballet as a seamstress. With the guidance of the Costume Director, I transitioned to head seamstress after one season. During this time, I was put in charge of the costume shop interns while also assisting in all aspects of the daily operations of the costume department, managing production continuity and organizing teams to maintain scheduled deadlines. In November 2015 I was recruited by 10 Apart Hospitality to help open a large steakhouse and cocktail bar in Ponce City Market. Since then, I have developed a proven creative aptitude in assisting owners with their top priorities and opened three new concepts. Through my experiences in daily management oversight, strategic planning, marketing, and team leadership, I have become more determined to continue working in the hospitality industry and more inspired to pursue greater opportunities to implement better systems on a more broad community level. As I reflect on my prior work and academic experience it is evident to me that my talents and skills align most closely with an environment conducive to the challenges and complexities of working in hospitality, but even more specifically, with interacting with people. Whether it is applying learned techniques and technology to maintain the company’s tradition of excellence, collaborating with team members to achieve goals, or the creation and implementation of systems for streamlined, efficient operations, every aspect of this work benefits the community and not just the bottom-line. Overall, I believe I have a diverse creative background, strong footing in hospitality industry and proven track record in increased profitability.
