They also emphasize self-awareness, relationship-building, and leadership goals among residents, while using collaboration and conflict-management skills to keep community members at ease. RAs play a crucial role in creating engaging and informational bulletin boards, often advertising initiatives in the halls.

Debate coaches at Carnegie Debate teach live online courses that are intellectually challenging and fun for students. Typically, classes are taught in groups of 4-5 students (of various ages) on topics such as public speaking, rebuttal and constructive speeches, flowing, teamwork, confidence, and crossfires in preparation for a mock debate. Coaches encourage student collaboration and interaction, as well as the usage of critical thinking skills through educational games and constructive criticism.
