I provide the Clerk's Office and the Court with substantive procedural and legal advice regarding day-to-day legal, administrative, procedural, and policy matters. I independently conduct legal research, provide analysis and prepare, report, and draft court procedures, policy documents, and other administrative and legal documents. Additionally, I provide appropriate guidance to staff in the administrative and operational areas of the Court, as required, and oversee various projects and daily administrative tasks, as assigned (including writing and updating internal operating and policy manuals as appropriate, helping to implement the Criminal Justice Act, and fielding attorney discipline and admission matters).

As associate counsel, my work focused on complex litigation practice with an emphasis on the representation of attorneys and other professionals in connection with licensing disputes, bar complaints, disciplinary matters, and malpractice defense. I also gathered experience representing public officials regarding ethical and litigation matters; private citizens regarding complex city and county litigation; and select clients regarding various issues, including contractual disputes, adoption, and tort claims.

Hodge'S Library

In my role as the Trace GRA, I maintained the online institutional repository for the University of Tennessee at trace.utk.edu. As the administrator, I regularly met with professors and other academics at UTK to acclimate them to the interface and to help upload and organize their scholarly content into the system. I also met with professors or other staff who had specific needs for a specific collection in UT's repository and worked with them to meet those needs. Further, I marketed, created, and maintained journal content with the repository's journal platform and performed general trouble-shooting and customer service.

During my time as a law clerk for attorney Jennifer Bolen of the Legal Side of Pain, I worked extensively on several cases involving the prescribing of controlled substances. In connection with these cases, I reviewed medical charts, created summaries of evidence, researched expert witnesses, and helped prepared trial strategies and exhibits. I also helped with the research and editing process for several articles, training material, and prescribing manuals.
