My position as a Commercial Real Estate Intern at Amy Wienands Real Estate has allowed me to work in a fast-paced environment with the #1 Real Estate team in Iowa. As an Intern in the Commercial Real Estate division, I contributed to the growth of our team with a wide variety of tasks which included: generating property descriptions and highlights with great attention to detail, assisting with listing and transaction coordination duties, collaborating with team members on the production of brochures, flyers, and offering memorandums for the company’s listings, and assisting colleagues in property management tasks.

As a young, dedicated, empathetic individual, with a passion for the city of Waterloo; being able to serve our community on a deeper level was an honor. My position as a Research and Development Intern on the Waterloo Community Development Board has granted me the opportunity to be a leader, think critically, and implement projects that directly correlate to the growth of our community. The Waterloo Community Development Board provides assistance for safe and sanitary housing through various programs. Throughout my internship, I conducted comprehensive research on demographics in specific neighborhoods in Waterloo. I then put together an outline of our steps to achieving a complete rehabilitation in a specific neighborhood. Following my research, I presented our ideas to the Waterloo City Council with our budget of 500,000 dollars and obtained 100% approval by the City Council and Waterloo Mayor to move forward with the rehabilitation project immediately. The next week, our presentation was on the front page of the Courier.Building relationships and connections with people in our community is my number one passion. I was blessed to be able to build those relationships and make a little difference in the short amount of time I had at the development board.
