Nursing Philosophy & MissionMy name is Lindsey Root and I will be graduating with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M University in August. I have four years of clinical experience that have provided me the ability to apply nursing theory and skills to diverse patient populations. My experiences in nursing school have equipped me with a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and patient-centered care. Upon graduation, I intend to pass the NCLEX and obtain a New Graduate Nurse position in the Fort Worth area. I am passionate about neonatal intensive care and exhibit empathy for the delicate journey of premature infants and their families. Therefore, my long-term goals are to gain experience and expertise as a registered nurse in the NICU. Following this, I aspire to return to school to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) so that I can continue to care for critical patients with advanced expertise and critical thinking skills. My mission is to provide exemplary care, unwavering support, and reassurance to families navigating the challenges of the neonatal unit. Due to my dedication to life-long learning, compassionate caregiving, and advocacy through active listening, I aim to contribute to every patient’s healthy future.Career Goals & ObjectivesThroughout nursing school, I have had the privilege of participating in professional development activities. Notably, as a member of Phi Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma), I will participate in nursing continued professional development courses to gain insights which will help me advance in my practice. Furthermore, I completed the TeamSTEPPS 3.0 Fundamentals course which focused on Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety. I also attended the ATI Test Taking Strategies Seminar to enhance my ability to critically think regarding patient outcomes. I am a firm believer in the importance of improving my nursing practice with every chance I am given, thus I am eager to pursue additional educational opportunities. Furthering my nursing knowledge and communication skills will allow me to enhance the quality of care given to my patients which is my top priority.
