In my current role as a Talent Acquisition Consultant, I provide this support throughout the full recruitment cycle for all of our positions whether they are union or non-union based for specific business units in our company. I collaborate with Hiring Managers on strategies for attraction, developing well-rounded interview guides, creating attractive offers right up to onboarding the new team member. I craft unique postings that clearly outline the position, highlight the community they would live in and provide information about who we are as a company.While recruitment is the majority of my day, I also have the benefit of participating in Career Fairs, working alongside others on special projects, mentoring fellow team members and volunteering alongside our Community Investment Team to give back to the community I live and work in. As I became more skilled at recruiting I began increase my comfort level with consulting with managers and advising on the selection of candidates and when it is for a unionized position how seniority is considered. We have a stratum structured alignment in our company and I was adding onto the areas I would support – adding in not only one higher level but also the non-union positions. From the Assistant position I moved into an Associate role and the first large scale project I worked on was for the combining of two of our Contact Centre’s to one central location. I was tasked with providing an overview of the process from posting (preparing an advertisement proposal of sites), defining criteria for reviewing applicants, developing screening calls, coordinating and booking of interviews straight through to offer letters and onboarding.
