Director, Career Development & Community Engagement
CurrentOversee the Career Education and High-Impact Practices (HIP) & Industry Engagement units in the Office of Career Development & Community Engagement. Manage the departmental budget including proper expenditure of funds consistent with the institution and division mission, strategic goals, and priorities. Build and maintain relationships with academic deans, faculty, and departments to ensure services are aligned with their college’s student and alumni career needs. Manage the data collection and maintenance of the University’s Carnegie Community Engagement Classification.Accomplishments:-Developed and executed the action plan for completing the 2024 Carnegie Community Engagement Reclassification application. -Selected as one of ~30 individuals (out of more than 130 applicants) to serve on the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification review team.-Selected for the 2024 Leadership Pensacola class out of 451 nominees.-Facilitated the data collection for the 2021-2022 Community Engagement report with a >80% completion rate across the institution.-Oversaw the successful implementation of Florida House Bill 1261 mandating that all new to UWF students complete a Career Readiness Module prior to the end of their first year.-Successfully facilitated the implementation of Florida House Bill 1507 awarding digital badges to UWF students completing specific courses.
Director, Community & Employer Engagement
Direct the operations of Community and Employer Engagement (CEE) unit including budget oversight and staff management. Lead the CEE Team in the development of a strategic plans, annual goals, and other planning efforts. Plan, organize, and develop policies related to employers recruiting on campus. Advise employers and students of ethical conduct and make conduct and policies known to the university as a whole. Oversee the Employer Partnership Program and other source of alternate funding. Research and apply for sources of alternate funding to support career-related programming for students and alumni. Accomplishments:-Planned and facilitated the first annual Argos Suit Up, an event that assists UWF students and alumni in obtaining professional attire at an affordable price. There were 397 attendees for this event the first year and 418 the second year, demonstrating the need UWF students and alumni have for this program.-Authored and received funding for grants to support initiatives such as Argos Suit Up, Career Road Trips, and other career-related programming. To date, more than $47,000 in funding has been secured for these initiatives.-Served on the first annual Founders Week committee for Paint Pensacola Blue and Green.-Received the Gabor Award for Excellence and the SGA Distinguished Staff Award.
