Christopher is a team leader and facilitator in Grassroots International Development, Peace & Conflict Resolution and Service Learning. He is a polyglot program manager, leading, recruiting, training, backstopping and providing logistical support to volunteers within the developing world and facilitating leadership experiences through service learning for both faculty and students. Christopher has been directing and leading volunteer trips around the world, managing orientations, financial reporting, logistics, debriefs and emergency first aid for two decades now.For 3 years with AmeriCorps in Washington, D.C. he recruited and trained volunteers, designed service projects and managed payroll for over 1,400 employees. He also served as a team leader with AmeriCorps’ National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), leading a diverse team of adult volunteers through 5 states working with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity. He also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa in Natural Resource Management and his professional experience includes work in Central and South America, the Caribbean, Western Europe along with Southeast Asia, East, West & South Africa and more.Facilitating Youth Empowerment through Conflict Resolution Education (CRE) and Interfaith based curriculum, he is also a former Rotary World Peace Fellow and holds an M.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies. In hopes of proliferating successful and cooperative empowerment programming, his last appointment was serving as buildOn.org's Global Trek Director in New York City and in August he will return to Peace Boat Japan as a 5th global voyage coordinator of their at sea Global English and Spanish teaching program. He recently took a sabbatical and taught skiing as a PSIA certified alpine ski instructor in Vail and took a Spring contract with the Mosaic Project out of California. He is looking forward to empowering and leading teams overseas for the foreseeable future.
