PAIN IS NOT NORMAL and it is my mission to teach people how to live without it. A huge part of pain is understanding the cause, and as a Physical Therapist I have the time to spend talking with clients that many practitioners do not. As one of my return clients put it: "Lindsy tells you what you wish your doctor would have had time to tell you during your 7 minute appointment".All of my initial evaluations are scheduled for 60 minutes as I want to have time to take a thorough history, perform a comprehensive full body movement exam, perform treatment, and still have time to educate the client about their symptoms. Typically >25% of the evaluation is spent talking with the client. Follow up appointments follow a similar format with re-testing of chief complaints and provocative tests and more education. Every patient gets a print out of pictures of their personalized home work program. I even change the generic instructions to fit with how the client describes it, which increases their understanding and adherence to the program.Aside from joint/muscle and orthopedic needs, I also specialize in treatment of headache/migraines, TMD, vertigo, and vestibular dysfunction. I have 3 years of specialized in-clinic mentor-ship and training in each of these areas. For workplace programs, I have the same personalized approach. I come to the work site and see exactly what the work demands are and then build a program from there. Everything is based on the needs of the company and the employees. If you have 10 departments that each need something different, then that is the program that will be created.

Knowledge is power and through educating I learn as much as I teach. Through working with 3rd year Doctorate of Physical Therapy students I am able to keep up with current evidence, trends in treatment, and innovative ideas from across the country. My current position is to facilitate the process of evidence based medicine with 3rd year DPT students while they are in their orthopedic clinic rotation. The students identify a clinical question and then go through the process of answering this question using the three components of EBM: research, clinical expertise, and patient values.
