Leadership is all about engaging, inspiring, motivating, and challenging my employees to develop individually and as a team, to become a tight unit with focus on delivering solid external services. I am of the conviction that success comes from creating a workspace and culture that encourages curiosity and creative thought, and this in turn will ensure that people are happy to come to work. It is a collaborative process that demands the participation and commitment of everyone involved. I do not place value on internal competition and little benefit to focus solely on quantity, when we can create a brand that is known for quality by building each other up and extending this practice to external services.I am straightforward and direct; I will give my honest opinion and feedback and believe that a candid conversation will avoid misunderstandings. I demand honesty, because one cannot solve a problem based on false premises, because I have no patience with manipulation and playing games, and because I believe that if we can talk about it, a solution or a compromise will be found. I am action- and solution-oriented; if approached with a problem, I will seek to solve it, then move on. I am observant and vigilant in protecting the well-being of those around me, but expect me to be blunt and demanding forthrightness from others in return.I create connections. I will back my team all the way, but expect loyalty in return. It is my ambition to make everyone feel part of a whole, where individual strengths are allowed to flourish, but where people work together and support each other toward a common goal. I will not accept back-stabbing, unwillingness to work towards a compromise, or disrespect to others. Each in its own way will undermine a team and over time is likely to corrode the basic goals I work towards. We spend a great amount of time at work, too much to not find a measure of happiness while we are there, and if that is not prioritized by a team member, their future in my department would have to be reevaluated.I believe in trust and freedom to act and learn and develop, and I have no desire for surveillance or control my team. While I am available as needed, but encourage people to independently figure things out. In the end, I hope that I have contributed to an enviroment where people are happy to come to work.
