With 12 years of service across the City of Seattle, Linet (she/her) brings expertise in administrative work, strategic advising, program management, and clinical social work. Starting as an intern with the Seattle City Council, she then held administrative and strategic planning roles in the City Budget Office and Mayor’s Office. As a former manager of the Community Liaisons program in the Dept. of Neighborhoods, Linet developed and oversaw inclusive engagement strategies for City projects, advising departments on outreach to underserved communities. She also established policies for language access, leadership training, and administrative improvements. Since 2018, she has been with Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) Water Line of Business and Utility Operation & Maintenance division as an Administrative Staff Analyst and was also a Co-Lead of their Branch Equity Team from 2020-2023.Linet is originally from Guåhan (Guam), a proud daughter of Filipino immigrants, and mom of two. She graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a B.A. in Political Science, focused on Public Policy and Law. Linet is completing her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Washington, with interests in Filipino American mental health, social work in public defense and ecopsychology. She also recently completed an internship with the Federal Public Defender of Western Washington.Linet’s versatile experience and strong commitment to social justice fuel her commitment to her work. She is passionate about helping people see the interconnectedness of the systems we live, work and play in, and partnering with others to create a more just world. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, getting lost in a good book, and hosting gatherings with delicious food and of course, karaoke.
