Digital & Social Media Coordinator

I have been working as the Faculty Digital Media Coordinator for the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences since 2012. Similar to my previous role in the marketing department, I produce high quality online and offline video and audio content for distribution across a number of digital platforms. I also manage the Universities YouTube account. I manage a number of social media accounts for my faculty, including: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+. My main duties include promoting news stories and events, running social campaigns, dealing with customer relations, and social listening. I also monitor analytics and make recommendations on future KPI’s. I manage the universities YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/universityofsurrey), which I set up in 2010. To date we have uploaded over 800 films across a range of genre’s and styles. Including promotional recruitment films for our undergraduate and postgraduate programs, research show case films, interviews with motivational speakers (Brian Cox, David Attenborough, Dara O’Briain and numerous others) animations, lectures and placement year films to name a few. I also manage the channel in terms of SEO, making sure films are optimised with appropriate titling, descriptions, tags and thumbnails. Other responsibilities include: - Providing film and audio production support for colleagues across the university. Including help with creating proposals and hiring external companies when required. - Organise the hire of video and audio equipment for staff and students at the university. - Working with the other two Digital Media Coordinators to create campaign level productions (For example Online Virtual Open Days)- Running our social media ambassador support system, which maintains the smooth day-to-day running of numerous social media accounts. I also provide support and advise on strategy and university policy. - Management of 3 digital display screens for digital marketing in high footfall areas.
