At UC San Diego, our team is pioneering the field of metabolic imaging, focusing on aging and immunology. With a robust background in bioorthogonal chemical imaging, we've developed groundbreaking tools for high-resolution chemical imaging platforms. These platforms are vital for analyzing molecular diversity and have significant implications in the study of aging processes and related diseases.Our recent work includes the innovative use of deuterium oxide-probed bioorthogonal stimulated Raman scattering microscopy to visualize cellular metabolic dynamics. Through this advanced technology, we've achieved macromolecular selectivity and quantitative measurement of nanoscopic distributions in cells. Our commitment extends to refining imaging techniques, such as the Pointillism Deconvolution and penalized reference matching algorithms, to further our understanding of metabolic activities in situ.
