Elements Learning Project was founded in Summer 2014. The project is dedicated to teaching lower and middle school children the art of writing, critical reading, and language. With 4-6 students in each class, we provide them reading materials, organize discussions in form of seminars where the students are encouraged to ask and raise their ideas, as writing assignments with peer reviews come after. • My project and responsibility of creating activities include:- organizing and teaching classes, where students are assigned with short novels and critical reading materials, mostly from American Literature- hold class discussion and peer review sessions- organize field trips for every two weeks to libraries, concerts, coffee shops, historical sites, etc.- brainstorm together with students on service work and opportunities including non-medical volunteer assistance at National Cancer Hospital monthly • We believe the best education is the one that allows children to integrate their knowledge with the world that they are part of, outside classroom. Through this project, my ultimate goal is to allow students to look for their own philosophy and identity of life.• Currently, I am working on expanding the project into a non-profit service to reach out to more children back home in Vietnam by focusing on providing cyber connection between native English speaker students and Vietnamese youngsters. This idea aims that this potential connection will not only help the Vietnamese students improve their skills in language, but also instigate a new curiosity to encounter a new culture.

It Helpdesk | Providence College

As part of the ResNet Helpdesk Team, I assist the College's students and faculties with:• network connectivity (school's network systems including PC Secure, Sakai, Outlook Office 365 Email)• malware removal, system recovery• software support (MacOS update, Microsoft Office installation, and academic software installation)• advice on technical issues (Mac vs. PC system, virus scan programs, etc.)

• Providence College Dance Club (PCDC) is a student-run organization that holds dance classes taught by student choreographers for the school community and Sunday classes taught by outside dance teachers. At the end of each semester, the organization holds its PCDC Show featuring all pieces taught during the semester. • With 8 weeks of preparation, I teach a class of 8 undergraduate students. I am inspired by each of my students and aspire to learn the beauty from the life of each of those whom I interact with. My piece is the reflection of my journey of looking for my identity and of embracing my being within my community. The Miriam Hospital'S Centers For Behavioral And Preventive Medicine

• The Maternal Behavior & Fetal and Infant Development Studies at Dr. Laura Stroud, PhD.'s Lab investigate the effects of smoking during pregnancy on fetal and infant behavior. The research purpose is to examine the baby's behavioral and physical responses and brain development during pregnancy and infant assessments to see how this relates to mom's behaviors and lifestyle factors during pregnancy. The studies are sponsored by The Miriam Hospital's Centers for Behavioral and Preventive Medicine and Brown Center for The Study of Children at Risk.• As an undergraduate research assistant, I am responsible for:- Phone interview and application screening with study participants- Home visits to examine moms and babies at their 1 and 6 month-old marks- Entering and cleaning clinical data

Sure, questions like this often floated within the class and they demanded my immediate answer. "Well, I must lose consciousness at that point then, I guess," I laughed to his inquisitive yet very lively voice. "No," Christel voiced out, "you must whip him really hard."There are a lot of stories I've watched and been told when sitting in my classes and sometimes walking during Photography period. It was more than fascinating to keep looking at the students and realize at one moment that they lingered around me to share their stories, any stories. And then it came just one single morning when I was a few minutes late for my class, one boy told me in relief, "We were so scared that you would not come back." Also, I remember, "Get in trouble" our Digital Photography Instructor said one day...]

• As an OIR technician and assistant, my responsibilities are:- analyze numerical data from all departments of the College to provide holistic planning and management information for Providence College as well as its senior leadership (Seasonal Books)- create Excel pivot tables and finalize Word pages for the Master Fact Book for the College- review the College's information profile on Barron's, College Board's, Princeton Review's, etc.- design, create and administer Alumni surveys.

• Safe Space is a student-run committee, under SHEPARD organization at Providence College. Our mission is to educate participants of each workshop and ultimately all student and faculty and staff members of the college on the history and reality regarding hate and prejudice that exist against the members of LGBTQQIAA community. Most importantly, we aim at finding and applying combating tools to become an ally and safe person. • One of five members on the committee, I am responsible for:- running trainings and workshops across campus for Providence College's faculties and students- updating information package regarding the LGBTQQIAA community- answering anonymous questions and concerns- working with Providence College Student Congress to hold trainings for different organizations, clubs, and committees on campus

• I have worked here as President (2011-2013) and Editor in Chief (2013-2014), under the original title as Co-founder of Chase Hanoi Non-Profit Art Project• Chase Hanoi was co-founded, aiming to establish and spread educational awareness for the young community in Hanoi, Vietnam through photography. The project is a platform that features Vietnamese youngsters’ artworks to express the millennial generation’s characteristics and to communicate their stories with other generations besides their 1990s members.
