Jerry is Founding and Managing Partner of Ignition Xcelerator. He leads the overall strategy and investment of the fund, includes sourcing, evaluation, and management of portfolio companies. Prior to IX, Jery was the Director of Multi-Entertainment Strategy at ByteDance (TikTok China). Previously, he was the Head of Investment at 37 Interactive Entertainment, the largest public gaming company in China (SZ002555), to lead its strategic investment and M&A within Greater China and worldwide in TMT and gaming sectors. Prior to 37, Jerry was the Founding Partner of Solaris Capital Partners, a multi-stage venture capital backing digital economy in lifestyle. Jerry was also a VP of NewGen Venture Partners, the fastest growing seed-stage venture fund where he helped the fund source and invest in over 70 emerging technology startups in both China and Silicon Valley within 2 years. Jerry began his finance career at Scotiabank where he advised investment opportunities and provided financial services to clients as a Personal Banking Officer. In total, Jerry has invested and managed a portfolio of over USD$1 Billion into nearly 150 companies, served as a board member of many portfolio companies, had 8 IPOs, and numerous exits via next round or M&A. His dedicated venture investing experience across Seed to IPO, together with lifelong passion in creating long term socioeconomic values, continuously drive Jerry to build with visionary entrepreneurs to make lasting impact. Jerry has an MBA from Hult International Business School, and a BA in Economics and Psychology with a concentration in Finance from University of British Columbia. Jerry is also a charismatic Mentor, Speaker, and Judge to startups and on media, at government and professional events.
