Responsible for the procurement of all indirect services and goods. Among others active in the tendering of the occupational health services (ARBO) and a new contract for temporary workers for all Danone / Nutricia locations in the Netherlands, coffee machines and outbound pallet flow. In collaboration with external consultant also active in the area of energy procurement. Also responsible for the continuation of the outsourcing of utilities (Supply of steam, cooling water, demineralized water, waste water treatment, air conditioning and compressed air to production) with the current supplier, but in a new contract form (performance contract).

Unilever R&D Vlaardingen is one of the three European laboratories where new developments in the food and non food field are researched and tested on laboratory or pilot plant scale. Unilever R&D Vlaardingen employs 1000+ people with very high average level of education. As a tactical buyer I have been working on the following commodity’s: external research at universities and commercial institutions, consultancy, Capex equipment for in the laboratories, electrical, mechanical and engineering works. I also screened the maintenance contracts for the site, buildings, infrastructure and laboratory equipment to check the costs of the contract versus the provided services. This has in many cases led to yearly repetitive cost savings. I also have been active in approaching internal customers to identify their Capex needs during the budget year, in order to have an early procurement involvement.

I-Bridge Ltd, the ICT shared service center of the Randstad Group, manages approximately 9,000 workstations and infrastructure for all offices of Randstad, Capac, Yacht and Tempo-Team. Responsible for the purchasing of software, software maintenance, hosting contracts and desktop hardware. Participated in ICT integration projects for companies acquired by the Randstad Group. Also setting up procurement procedures and a contracts management system was part of my responsibility.

At Ericsson Telecommunication BV / Ericsson NV / SA rsponsible for the following package: Procurement of all external resources (approximately 250 externals and 100 temporaries) and all HR-related services in the Benelux. Activities included: Selection preferred and approved suppliers, tendering all requests for new externals, contract and price negotiations, managing of 3 assistants, requirements planning with the internal customers, claims handling, dealing with complaints about externals and exploration of possible new vendors.

At Ericsson NV / SA responsible for: Acquisition GSM / UMTS sites, civil construction work, safety works, coverage measurement and testing of GSM / UMTS sites for extending the coverage of the mobile network of the Belgian operator Mobistar. Furthermore responsible for the in sourcing of software tools for network construction and management of the mobile network. For these activities and for those of other Purchase Managers acted as a contracts manager for the conclusion of service agreements.

At Philip Morris Holland B.V. responsible for the following package: All ICT procurement such as: servers, desktops, network cabling, printers, software and consultants (including the drafting of contracts). Also responsible for the procurement of temporary staff, employment services, shipments of finished goods, raw materials and ingredients (truck, rail, container), periodic environmental and hazardous goods measurements and anti-theft devices. Furthermore responsible for the purchasing of site services such as catering , landscaping, ICT help desk and security guards. All contracts were recorded in the SAP system.

This is a company that designs, manufactures and installs equipment for the international food industry. Responsible for the tender process / procurement of machine components, intermediate products and the outsourcing of the manufacturing of plastic machine parts. Supervising the procurement assistant as regards to setting priorities and actions to be taken. All contracts were recorded in the Baan software logistics system.

- Company takeover feasibility study. This concerned an agency specialized the hotel and catering industry with several sites in The Netherlands. The study involved market analysis, financial feasibility and operational aspects such as labor, financial and administrative issues. - Interim purchase manager of the ICT department of the Technical University of Delft. This department provides IT infrastructure, management and installation services, hardware and software for the entire campus of the TU Delft. Responsible for directing purchasing, price and product policies and external presentation. Also a study was conducted as to improving the cooperation between the various departments within the ICT department. My advice was received positively. - Restructuring the information system of the Domestic Care Company Rotterdam aimed at improving the availability of up to date information for all employees. Several logistical and financial software packages were evaluated and a website was developed for communication with (potential) customers. - Setting up a company for the supply of domestic services.

Responsible for the procurement of investment goods, modifications on existing process installations and services such as electrical installation work, engineering works, process automation projects (hardware and software) and concluding maintenance contracts. The procurement was executed with a high degree of autonomy through a large data base of national and international suppliers. The work was conducted in direct cooperation with the end user or in a multi-disciplinary team. I also managed the supplier base and supervised the Assistant Buyer setting priorities and directing the resolution of problems and complaints. As a Super User of the procurement module within the SAP system responsible for training and direct assistance to fellow users. Main achievement has been realizing large savings as to the annual maintenance and renovation costs and becoming less dependent on single source suppliers.
