Cindy started her logistics career with Ferguson Enterprises in 2008 with the opening of the Frostproof Distribution Center. She was hired as a loader but quickly moved into the shipping clerk position. In this role, she worked directly with customers at the customer pick-up counter, prepared LTL shipping documents, aided LTL loading and parcel packing. Over the five years in this position, she capitalized on opportunities to learn other processes such as customer and vendor returns. It was during this time that she was introduced to the requirements of international shipping.Cindy’s professional attitude, work ethic, and ability to work without direct supervision afforded her the opportunity to join the International Compliance Team in 2013 as a compliance analyst. Her responsibility in this role was to liaise between the International Compliance Team, the international sales, operations, and warehousing teams, the distribution centers, hundreds of freight forwarders and customers to provide expedient deliveries while ensuring compliance with US Export Controls. To do well in the role, Cindy was given AES Compliance, IMDG, C-TPAT and HTS coding training.Because of her success in this role, she was promoted to warehouse manager for the International Division in 2015. Here, she was responsible for inbound and outbound international logistics, inventory integrity and leading the warehouse team. She managed approximately $4 million in inventory, a 2500 square foot warehouse, an acre of pipe yard and a 3-person team for 4 years. Her team had a safety record of no lost-time incidents.In her current role as configuration analyst, Cindy’s team is tasked with slotting a 540,000 square foot distribution center to facilitate productivity and control inventory integrity for approximately $60M of merchandise. Cindy is the site’s C-TPAT Coordinator, a member of the hiring team, and provides IT support.While accumulating the hands-on experience the DC has to offer Cindy continued her academic career as well, choosing to focus on supply chain management. Most recently, she completed her MBA at Florida Southern College. Not only is it important to her to continue to gain knowledge for herself, it is the expectation she has set forth for her team. Cindy is a servant leader. She sets high expectations and then provides the tools necessary for the team and individual’s success. She is determined to be successful and has been able to gain credibility with the Frostproof team by making a point to gain hands-on experience in all processes and across all shifts.
