I realized that most people are not aware of what it is like to have a hearing loss (not deaf - but a hearing loss) and don't know how to effectively communicate with a person with a hearing loss. I currently author a blog on the topic, and have delivered several talks to Toastmaster groups and Hearing Loss Associations.

This focus and brand I retired in 2015. But when I was involved with it was rewarding. I provided tips, strategies and insights for dealing with adversity and embracing successes every day through speaking, a book, web site and radio show. The first book, "Read My Lips Tips for Success" is now being updated and rewritten with a new title, to be published in Amazon in early 2017 (maybe 2016 if I'm lucky!)

I retired from my 33 year career at UCLA in January 2013. While there I was fea­tured in UCLA Today, UCLA Spot­light, and was hon­ored with a nom­i­na­tion for the Chancellor’s True Bruin award for my ser­vice to the UCLA research com­mu­nity.The last ten years of my career focused on the development of instructor-led classes and e-courses on the topic of research administration - teaching how to navigate through the myriad of red tape that accompanies funding for research. For that endeavor came the nomination for the Chancellor's Award

For 18 months I hosted a radio show that was managed by Toginet Radio. The intent of the show was to Inspire, encourage facing and overcoming adversity.
