I spent many years in the customer service industry and held positions such as receptionist, customer service representative and office manager. I have many "office" and administrative skills. My goal has always been to be an effective teacher, and it took me years of working full time and paying my way through school to finally complete my B.A. and become licensed to teach. I graduated from the University of Colorado in 2005 and spent the first year after graduation substitute teaching in Boulder Valley School District. I took a long-term sub position at Centaurus High School and taught AP European History and World Geography for a semester. In 2006 I acquired a position at Colorado Virtual Academy as a History Teacher. I have learned an amazing amount about e-learning since then. My educational background trained me for brick and mortar teaching but my path has taken me into the virtual world. I am excited to be part of an innovative and cutting edge educational model. I left COVA after 8 years and worked for Insight Academy (also online) and now work for Colorado Digital Learning Solutions.I have lots of experience teaching World History and many AP courses (US History, European History, Psychology). I have been the AP Coordinator, as well as the Gifted and Talented (GATE) specialist for the high school.Specialties: Secondary Social Studies education and endorsed in Secondary Language Arts
