Landscape planning and design, with a focus on urban planning.

I wrote my Master's thesis as a commission for Vaasa. I analysed and planned the Urban Green Infrastructure of Vaasa through the lens of ecosystem services. In this large scale planning project I gained knowledge and experience of strategical landscape management, the concept of ecosystem services as well as using and working with GIS.

I spent the summer 2021 at the detail planning department. In the Länsisatama-Kalasatama–team I worked with the area of Salmisaari. During the summer I indepentely carried out a landscape analysis of the area and created a reference plan with urban planning principles based on the results of my analysis. I gained experience of carrying out projects from start to finish as well as learned using Microstation.

At MASU Planning I assisted in the planning of urban and residential spaces in the Helsinki capital region. I gained insight in all stages of carrying out planning projects, from the stage of making a strong concept to drawing construction drawings.

At Frontago, an important task for my development as a planner was the planning of private courtyards. I was put in the role of the planner for the first time professionally. At Frontago I also developed my visual and graphical skills, as I updated the company's graphical image. I gained a lot of experience of using AutoCad whilst creating drawings for building permit applications. I also learned using Premiere Pro while editing videos for showcasing Frontagos projects.

My main task was customer service regarding admission to the Aalto university, by mail, phone or face-to-face; in both English, Finnish and Swedish. I also arranged smaller and bigger events where students from secondary high schools could visit and get to know Aalto. This was my first 20 hpw part-time job that I did alongside my studies and I learned a lot about time management while combining this with my studies.

I was a waitress in mainly the a la carté restaurant onboard the ship Gabriella one summer.

I did cateringjobs and was a stand-in waitress at many different occasions and restaurants.
