Profile bio

About Lino Peña-Martinez

As an alumnus of the foster care system I was quite literally a ward of the state; resilience and adaptability are my strongholds. I have developed as a dependable and charismatic individual that can guarantee consistency and reliability and I lean on my lived experience to build fruitful, genuine relationships, partnerships, and alignment between movements; as a vehicle for movement fusion.I’m a Child Welfare and Energy/Environmental Justice Advocate progressing sustainability efforts working with diverse and interdisciplinary teams. My goal is to construct, engage, and promote technologically, socially, and analytically sound sustainable practices and solutions. I have experience at congressional, federal, and local levels with sensitive and high urgency portfolios-moving with integrity and high fidelity. The collective goal is to build self-efficacy and durable community and economic ecosystems, recognizing that solutions to our environmental crisis come in many forms-that the larger social and political issues we face should be dealt with at the same time as something more domestic and as specific as foster care/child welfare, security, and more.Historic national investments, new sociopolitical macroeconomic conditions globally, a green energy movement rooted in security, stability, transparency, quality jobs, intentional strategic efforts, clean environments, renewables, and equity. Global peace hinges upon every countries’ need to be self reliant in their demand for resources and energy, each economy to be interconnected but independently resilient as urban ecosystems; I mean technologies that align with the ecological balance of our global systems, the natural systems, and the legacy of human dignity-this includes responsible stewardship of the trust of the general public both domestic and international. Threading federal funding, maximizing tax dollars and leveraging existing efforts and investing in people is the way forward. To be proactive, engaged, dignified, and bound to each other in these turbulent times. My schooling has been heavily interdisciplinary and I have conducted research in the realms of architectural history, urban planning, and oceanographic climactic ecology. I strive to diversify my understanding of the interconnectivity between nature and society because of my philosophy. A world in which more is taken to account is a world in which more can be adequately addressed; Let any moments we share be an opportunity to create synergies between our life’s goals and aspirations for integrity, meaning, and sustained intention.
