Zeeland is well known as a touristic region in the Netherlands due to the beautifull nature and beaches, but it offers so much more than that. The culture of the inhabitants is very 'down to earth', and thus it is a very modest region filled with hard-working people. You would be surprised to learn that a lot of innovation is actually happening here. As I am feeling really connected to this Region, and feel really proud of the innovations I have seen in the agrifood sector around here, I believe that we shouldn't be so shy and proudly start sharing our efforts and results with the rest of the world. It is one of the reasons that I have I joined Food Delta Zeeland as a board member. Food Delta is a Regional Food network within Zeeland. The network is fuelling innovation between different actors of the food chain operating from this Region, this entails agri-food companies, governmental organisations and knowledge institutes. Food Delta is active on 4 strategic pillars: - Health Delta - stimulating the development of healthy products by agrifood companies that are active in Zeeland, as well as stimulating a healthy environment within the region.- Smart Delta - enhancing the usage of technology within the agrifood sector- Career Delta - attracting and retaining young food professionals into Zeeland.
