Lins Wilson is a music creator, sound designer and project producer. Her wealth of experience in the creative industries over the last 15 years has taken her from performing at SXSW to supporting The Pixies; producing sets for a Nicki Minaj music video to theatre shows at The Barbican; fundraising, booking and self-releasing music as Magick Mountain to creating cello-led soundscapes for Harewood House.Lins is an accomplished musician/artist and graduate of Leeds Arts University, who is hugely passionate about music and the arts, and about connecting people. Lins is currently Project Operations Manager and lead mentor for Music Local / Launchpad, offering support to emerging music folks across Yorkshire. She is always working on new music/projects/gigs, and being a mum.As an artist and session musician she has written and recorded EPs and albums, played session on other artists' recordings and toured internationally as a guitarist, bassist and cellist. Notably with Blood Red Shoes (support for The Pixies at European arena dates); performing at SXSW and London Calling, Amsterdam with Grammatics; travelling to Dock Fest, Hard Rock Calling and Royal Festival Hall with Lone Wolf; Tramlines, YNOT Festival and Euro shows with Menace Beach.Her garage-psych rock band, Magick Mountain, have taken a DIY approach and seeked out support from Festival Republic/PRSf’s ‘ReBalance’ programme, Help Musicians funding and Launchpad+ to self-release their debut album. Lins manages the band, books shows and works on maximising income streams as an independent artist. Shows include Latitude Festival, Manchester Psych Fest, Raut Oak (GER), Brudenell Social Club, Hull Polar Bear & more.As a sound designer, she co-founded arts collective Buffalo in 2012, creating ambient-experimental cello-led soundscapes in collaboration with Jon Foulger and Tom Hudson, on projects for Harewood House, The Tetley, Festival of Making and Sensoria Festival. She has been awarded ACE’s ‘Developing Your Creative Practise’ fund, Help Musicians and a Francis Chagrin award to develop her cello compositions.To support her artist career, Lins works as a creative producer and project coordinator, delivering large-scale projects for Music:Leeds/Music Local (previously Lord Whitney and Transform theatre festival). This includes being lead mentor for Launchpad, plus mentoring artists via BPH and NYMAZ, and supporting funding applications. She has also led the set production work on music videos for Nikki Minaj and Corinne Bailey Rae.
